Minimum Requirements to Join
To apply to become CxPM Certified, you must meet the following minimum requirements
Minimum Years Experience: 5 years of direct experience managing commissioning of industrial plant process/energy systems
Minimum Projects Completed: Successfully led commissioning of at least one megaproject from start to finish with a budget larger than $1B
Minimum Responsibility: Managed a commissioning team of at least 50 people or more
This is a hard exam to pass - you will not pass it unless you have direct experience managing commissioning of megaprojects.

The ICxA has formed a working group of global commissioning experts that develops and maintains the global commissioning standard for industrial plant process/energy system commissioning, as well as the certification program to certify individuals to this global standard. This is the first and only global commissioning standard backed by industry to recognize the knowledge and experience of industrial plant process/energy commissioning experts.
Certification consists of study material, as well as a proctored exam to confirm fundamental knowledge and understanding of the global commissioning standard.
Once certified, individuals are also recognized for years of experience, with 4 levels of certification:
CxPM Level 0 - Certified, working to achieve experience
CxPM Level 1 - Certified, with 3 years of experience
CxPM Level 2 - Certified, with 6 years of experience
CxPM Level 3 - Certified, with 9 years of experience
CxPM Level 4 - Certified, with 12+ years of experience
